Greystone & Piedmont Park
The wedding ceremony and reception will be held at Greystone, a newly renovated, LEED-certified facility on the shores of Piedmont Park’s Lake Clara Meer. It was constructed in 1926 from Georgia granite chiseled on site, and it originally served as a bath house for guests swimming in the lake and adjacent pool. In 2009, it was transformed into a beautiful new event space surrounded by outdoor plazas, swimming pool areas, picnic pavilions and stunning views of the Atlanta skyline.
Piedmont Park has given Atlanta some of its most memorable moments. First in the spotlight as the site of the 1895 Cotton States and International Exposition, the Park is the home of the Atlanta Dogwood Festival and many other popular events, the finish line of the Peachtree Road Race, and the venue for recent Green Concerts performed by the Dave Matthews Band and Paul McCartney.
Last year’s grand reopening of Greystone culminated two decades of capital improvements in the historic portion of Piedmont Park, made possible by significant philanthropic support from the Atlanta community. Coxe Curry & Associates, the fund-raising consulting firm owned by Nick’s mother, Ann Curry, worked closely with the nonprofit Piedmont Park Conservancy to secure more than $64 million for park renovation, maintenance, security, programs and a 53-acre expansion of greenspace. The Curry family is proud to have played a key role in the renaissance of Piedmont Park, making this site a particularly special one for the Tasher/Curry wedding.
